176 Mr Taylor of the Unitarian Church, on behalf of the Committee, for suggesting Mr Bond as the speaker The following people were suggested as possible future Thanksgiving speakers 1 Dr Sachar, President of Brandeis University 2 Dr Wessel, President of Tufts 3 Dean Francis Keppel, Harvard School of Education 4 Professor Chase of Boston University, School of Education 5 Professor Sanborn Brown of M I T , resident of Lexington 6 Professor Bertrand Fox of Harvard, resident of Lexington The Committee gave a rising vote of thanks to Mr Cole for his efforts in securing a speaker and planning the Thanksgiving Community Service program The following suggestions were made for April 19th 1 Mr Cole suggested that the Committee select a speaker for April 19th as soon as sanction is given by the Board of Selectmen and after the new Celebrations Committee is formed 2 Mrs Pullen suggested that two sub-committees be named a Band Committee Mr Rooney b Important Guests Committee Mrs Hutchins Vice President Nixon, General MacArthur and General Grunther were suggested as possible honored guests Mr Hutchins will speak to Mr Whitney of Welles- ley about the possibility of having General MacArthur and the arrangements which would be necessary in that event Mr Cobb will speak to Miss McIntyre about having Junior and Senior High School students submit themes for April 19th Mr Gustin read a letter from Miss Helen McIntyre thanking the Committee for asking her to chaperone the High School United Nations Contest winners on their New York trip Mr Cobb will ask Miss McIntyre for permis- sion to have her letter published in the "Letter to the Editor" column of the newspaper There will be no meetings until December 11th Geormia Williams Rgcording Secretary
