176 <br /> Mr Taylor of the Unitarian Church, on behalf of the <br /> Committee, for suggesting Mr Bond as the speaker <br /> The following people were suggested as possible <br /> future Thanksgiving speakers <br /> 1 Dr Sachar, President of Brandeis University <br /> 2 Dr Wessel, President of Tufts <br /> 3 Dean Francis Keppel, Harvard School of Education <br /> 4 Professor Chase of Boston University, School <br /> of Education <br /> 5 Professor Sanborn Brown of M I T , resident of <br /> Lexington <br /> 6 Professor Bertrand Fox of Harvard, resident of <br /> Lexington <br /> The Committee gave a rising vote of thanks to Mr Cole <br /> for his efforts in securing a speaker and planning the <br /> Thanksgiving Community Service program <br /> The following suggestions were made for April 19th <br /> 1 Mr Cole suggested that the Committee select <br /> a speaker for April 19th as soon as sanction is given <br /> by the Board of Selectmen and after the new Celebrations <br /> Committee is formed <br /> 2 Mrs Pullen suggested that two sub-committees <br /> be named <br /> a Band Committee Mr Rooney <br /> b Important Guests Committee Mrs Hutchins <br /> Vice President Nixon, General MacArthur and <br /> General Grunther were suggested as possible honored guests <br /> Mr Hutchins will speak to Mr Whitney of Welles- <br /> ley about the possibility of having General MacArthur <br /> and the arrangements which would be necessary in that <br /> event <br /> Mr Cobb will speak to Miss McIntyre about having <br /> Junior and Senior High School students submit themes for <br /> April 19th <br /> Mr Gustin read a letter from Miss Helen McIntyre <br /> thanking the Committee for asking her to chaperone the <br /> High School United Nations Contest winners on their New <br /> York trip Mr Cobb will ask Miss McIntyre for permis- <br /> sion to have her letter published in the "Letter to the <br /> Editor" column of the newspaper <br /> There will be no meetings until December 11th <br /> Geormia Williams <br /> Rgcording Secretary <br />
