<br />Minutes of the Feb 8, 2024 Meeting of the Greenways Corridor Committee <br /> <br />Members present in person: Keith Ohmart (chair), Yifang Gong, Bob Hausslein, <br />Bobak Moshiri, Stephen Perkins, Peggy Enders <br />Members present virtually: Eileen Entin, Mal Crawford <br />Non-voting members present virtually: Mike Tabaczynski, Susan Kenyon <br /> <br />Jan 4 2024 Minutes accepted unanimously <br /> <br />Patriots Day Parade - Keith, Stephen, and Bob volunteered to carry <br />banner. Others are encouraged to participate in order to create a strong <br />presence. <br /> <br />Safe Routes to School - Susan Barrett heading, revitalizing. Bobak <br />volunteered to represent GCC in planning meetings. <br /> <br />Bikeway Commuter Breakfast May 17 - Susan Barrett is organizing. Keith and <br />Yifang volunteered to represent GCC at planning meetings and staff a GCC <br />information table at the event. Room for more participation as we get closer to <br />the event. <br /> <br />CLC Spring Walks - Contact Keith to lead a walk of your choosing. You should <br />be somewhat knowledgeable of the points of interest along the route. <br /> <br />250th celebration - Peggy attended the January 30th Community <br />Meeting. Format was small group discussions at tables with open ended <br />brainstorming for event ideas, then a rep from each table summarized to full <br />meeting. <br /> <br />Official start is July 13, 2024, running through Summer of 2026. The main <br />Patriots Day celebration will be on Saturday April 19, 2025 (rather than on <br />Monday for safety). $500,000 grant money available. Peggy emphasized <br />opportunity for GCC to participate. She and Keith discussed possible treasure <br />hunt or geocaching at historical sites connected by Across Trails and <br />Bikeway. Involve the Historical Society. Mike suggested a series of historical <br />walks on days other than Patriots Day to get more participation, also a redo of <br />the history of the bikeway walk which was held some years ago. <br /> <br />Peggy also suggested GCC involvement in the Bikeway Block Party she is <br />planning with Jim Cadenhead and Cristina Burwell for Sunday September 15 <br />this year. Primary focus is on arts, music, and dance events. Keith proposed <br />that GCC include an activity at the Bikeway Block Party as a trial run for one or <br />more events in gaps in the 250th celebration. <br /> <br /> <br />Ongoing Business <br /> <br />
