REPORT OF TOWN CLERK 57 <br />Streets to the new Concord Avenue Turnpike, a distance of ap- <br />proximately 2600 feet, under Chapter 90 of the General Laws, <br />and amendments. <br />The Appropriation Committee recommends that the <br />sum of $9,000.00 be appropriated tinder this Article. <br />Article 23. To see if the Town will vote to appropriate <br />money to construct Lincoln Street, from Marrett Road in a <br />northeasterly direction a distance of 3600 feet, under Chapter <br />90 of the General Laws and amendments. <br />The Appropriation Committee recommends that this <br />Article be indefinitely postponed. <br />Article 24. To see if the Town will vote to establish the <br />compensation of the Collector of Taxes, Town Clerk and Town <br />Treasurer. <br />The Appropriation Committee recommends that the <br />compensation of the officers named in this Article be as <br />follows: Collector of Tares, annual rate of $1,785.00 for <br />the period January 1 to June 30, 1935, and an annual <br />rate of $1,942.50 for the period .July 1 to December 31, <br />1935. <br />Town Clerk, annual rate of $1,530.00 for the period <br />January 1 to June 30, 1935, and an annual rate of <br />$1,6.15.00 for the period July 1 to December 31, 1935; <br />Town Treasurer, annual rate of .$630.00 for the period <br />January 1 to June 30, 1935, and an annual rate of <br />$665.00 for the period, July 1 to December 31, 1935. <br />Article 25. To see if the Town will vote to appropriate <br />money for a compressor for the use of the Highway Depart- <br />ment. <br />The Appropriation Committee recommends that the <br />sum of $925.00 be appropriated under this Article. <br />Article 26. To see if the Town will vote to establish a new <br />account to be called Water Department, Stock Account, and <br />appropriate money for said account by transfer from other <br />funds. <br />58 TOWN OF LEXINGTON <br />The Appropriation Committee recommends that the <br />Water Department Stock Account be established and <br />that the sum of $4,000.00 be appropriated and transfer- <br />red from 1G'ater Department Available Surplus. <br />Article 27. To see if the Town will vote to install water <br />mains in the following unaccepted streets, subject to the assess- <br />ment of betterments, and to take by eminent domain the neces- <br />sary easement therefor: <br />Pinewood Road, .from the present end, to Pollen Road, <br />a distance of approximately 360 feet: <br />Summit Road, from the present end a distance of ap- <br />proximately 250 feet; <br />Blake Road, from Nichols Road to a point beyond <br />\owcrs Road, a distance of approximately 1500 feet; <br />and provide funds for said installation by direct appropriation <br />and by transfer frour other fuuds- <br />The Appropriation COMM ttee recommends the i.rrslalia- <br />tion of water mains in. Pinewood ft.oad and Summit <br />Road and further recomntends that the stem of ,$2,3i0.00 <br />he appropriated and transferred from ll'ater Depart- <br />ment Available Surplus for the installation- of such. <br />mains. 7'he Appropriation Committee does not recom- <br />mend the installation of mater mains in Blake Road at <br />the present time. <br />Article 28. To see if the Town will vote to install water <br />mains in the following accepted streets: <br />'Massachusetts Avenue, from (']rill's Garage to Pleas- <br />ant Street, a distance of approximately 1 700 feet; <br />Bedford Street, from Elea .weans to Tewksbury <br />Street, a distance of approximately 2075 feet; <br />and provide funds for said installation by direct appropria- <br />tion, by traansfcr, or by issue of bonds or notes therefor. <br />The Appropriation- Conxrnitire recommends the installa- <br />tion of water nutins in. ]iassaeJrusetts Avenue and Bed- <br />ford Street as specified in this Article and farther rec- <br />ommends that the cost of the installation of such mains <br />be met by a bond issue of .20,000.00. <br />
