During his remarks, Mr. Horton was sharply called to order and <br />cautioned by the Moderator for certain personal remarks concerning <br />a gentleman who had raised a point of order. <br />At 10.50 o'clock, in response to a general demand, the vote was <br />taken on Mr. Clapp's motion by ballot and with the use of the <br />check list. The result was as follows : <br />Whole number of names checked, <br />Whole number of ballots cast, <br />Yes, <br />No, <br />234 <br />234 <br />148 <br />86 <br />And the Moderator declared the motion lost, two-thirds having <br />failed to vote in the affirmative. <br />On motion of George F. D., 1911, <br />at 8.00 p. m., then and there to act on the following articles. <br />ARTICLE 1. To choose a Moderator to preside at said meeting. <br />ART. 2. To see if the town will authorize the Water Com- <br />missioners to -lay a water main on Waltham street, from Middle <br />street to Concord avenue, appropriate money for the same, or act in <br />any manner relating thereto. <br />ART. 7. To receive and act upon the reports of the committee <br />appointed to investigate the condition of the center engine house <br />and the advisability of purchasing automobile fire apparatus for the <br />town. <br />ART. 8. To see if the town will vote to repair, alter or recon- <br />struct the center engine house, and to provide for the raising of <br />funds for that purpose by the issue and sale of the notes or bonds of <br />the town, or act in manner relating thereto. <br />ART. 9.
