27 <br />ART. 15. On motion of George D. Harrington it was <br />Voted, "That for the purpose of procuring temporary loans to <br />and for the use of the Town of Lexington in anticipation of taxes of <br />the present municipal year, the Town Treasurer is hereby authorized <br />to borrow from time to time with the approval of the Board of Se- <br />lectmen, and to execute and deliver the note or notes of the town <br />therefor, payable within one year from the time the loan is made. <br />All debts incurred under this vote shall he paid from the taxes of <br />the present municipal year." <br />ART. 16. On motion of George W. Taylor it was <br />Voted, That the taxes for 1905 be made payable Dec. 1st, 1905, <br />that an allowance of of 1% for each full month be made for prior <br />payment, that interest at the rate of 6% per annum be charged on <br />all taxes paid after Dec. 1, 1905, and that the Tax Collector be in- <br />structed to collect all taxes by June 1, 1906. <br />ART. 18. On motion of George D. Harrington it was <br />Voted, "That the town issue ten registered bonds of $1000 <br />each, dated Nov. 1, 1905, payable in twenty years from date and <br />bearing interest at the rate of 4% per annum, principal and interest <br />to be paid in gold coin of the United States of the present standard <br />of weight and fineness, to refund an equal amount of the bonds of <br />the town denominated " Lexington Water Bonds," which became <br />due Nov. 1, 1905, tinder the provisions of Chapter 160 of the Acts <br />of 1896, and that said bonds be sold at private sale under the di- <br />rection of the Selectmen upon the best terms that they can ob- <br />tain. Vote unanimous. <br />ART. 20. On motion of George W. Taylor it was <br />Voted, "That the Selectmen be authorized to repair Town Ball, <br />Village Hall and Stone Building, and that the money be taken from <br />the contingent grant." <br />28 <br />ART. 23. On motion of George W. Taylor it was <br />Voted, "That the Selectmen are hereby authorized to sell at pub- <br />lic auction, or otherwise in their discretion, the land on Concord <br />avenue formerly occupied by the Franklin School building; also the <br />land now occupied by the Tidd School building on Hancock street; <br />also the land now occupied by the Howard School building on the <br />corner of Woburn and Lowell streets, the sale in each case to carry <br />the building thereon or not, as the Selectmen may think best." <br />ART. 26. Mr. George W. Taylor made a verbal report and it was <br />voted to lay the smatter on the table. <br />ART. 27. On motion of E. A. Bayley it was <br />Voted, That the new Primary School building shall be named the <br />"Munroe School." <br />ART. 28. Voted to refer the matter to the Surveyor of Highways. <br />ART. 29. George H. Cutter moved, " that the sum of $500 be <br />appropriated and assessed for making surveys and plans of real es- <br />tate in town with card index, to be expended under the direction of <br />the Assessors." And it was <br />Voted, To lay the matter on the table. <br />'Under this Article, on motion of E. A. Bayley, it was <br />Voted That Articles 8 to 14, both inclusive, also Articles 17, 19, <br />21, 22, 24, 25 and 29 be referred to a committee of 15, to be ap- <br />pointed by the Moderator, such committee to include a member of <br />the Board of Selectmen, Surveyors of Highways, Overseers of the <br />Poor, School Committee, Assessors, Fire Engineers, Board of Health <br />and Water Commissioners; that said committee fully consider <br />the subject of these Articles and report at some adjournment of this <br />meeting with such recommendations as they may deem prudent. <br />Under this vote the Moderator appointed the following committee : <br />
