Town of Lexington <br />Lexington Community Center Program Advisory Committee <br />Nancy Shepard, Chairman <br />Nancy Adler <br />Alessandro Alessandrini <br />Daniel Palant <br />Lisah Rhodes <br />Archana Singhal <br />John Zhu <br />Tel: (781) 698 -4870 <br />Fax: (781) 862 -2747 <br />Lexington Community Center Program Advisory Committee <br />Minutes of Meeting <br />February 23, 2017 <br />A meeting of the Community Center Program Advisory Committee was held on Thursday, <br />February 23rd at 7:00 p.m. at the Lexington Community Center, 39 Marrett Road, Lexington. <br />Meeting Attendees: Members - Alessandro Alessandrini, Nancy Adler, Dan Palant, Nancy Shepard <br />(Chair), Archana Singhal <br />Ex- Officio Member Attendees: Sheila Butts (Community Center Director), Melissa Battite (Director <br />of Recreation & Community Programs) Charlotte Rodgers (Director of Human Services) <br />Unable to attend: Lisah Rhodes, John Zhu. <br />The meeting was called to order at 7:OOpm. <br />1. Introductions <br />Melissa Battite attended for the first time. She introduced herself and the committee members <br />introduced themselves. <br />2. Minutes of January 12, 2016 <br />The minutes from the January meeting were reviewed and unanimously accepted. <br />3. Liaison Reports and Discussion of Programming <br />• We discussed the idea of a Winter Carnival that could involve indoor activities and <br />weather permitting, outdoor activities like making snow sculptures and sledding. Dan <br />Palant has made a connection to someone who could help with snow sculptures. <br />• CPR- We discussed the idea of offering CPR training to Lexington residents. For the next <br />meeting, Melissa and Charlotte will compile a list of the current CPR class offerings. <br />Tom Romano is applying for a grant from the Community Endowment of Lexington for <br />CPR classes. The Dana Home Foundation provides funding for the Grandparents and <br />Others CPR course. <br />• Archana Singhal reported that the East Lexington Civic Association and IAL will be co- <br />sponsoring a candidates forum on Saturday, February 25th at the Community Center. <br />• Intergenerational programming - <br />o Charlotte Rodgers said there will be an April school vacation program called <br />"Grandparents Gone Wired ". LHS students will help seniors navigate their devices. <br />
