<br />Preserve scenic views and those areas which border a scenic road; <br /> <br />Provide flood control/storage; <br /> <br />Preserve important surface water bodies, including wetlands, vernal pools or riparian <br />zones; and <br /> <br />Preserve priority parcels identified in the Open Space Plan. <br /> <br /> <br />Historical Resources <br /> proposals that receive preference are those which: <br /> <br /> <br />Protect, preserve, enhance, restore and/or rehabilitate historic, cultural, architectural or <br />archaeological resources of significance, especially those that are threatened, including <br />those within a Lexington Historic District, on the State or National Historic Register, or <br />eligible for placement on such registers, or on the Lexi <br />Comprehensive Cultural Resources Survey; <br /> <br />Protect, preserve, enhance, restore and/or rehabilitate Town-owned properties, features or <br />resources of historical significance; <br /> <br />Protect, preserve, enhance, restore and/or rehabilitate the historical function of a property <br />or site; <br /> <br />Provide permanent protection for a historic resource; <br /> <br />Support the adaptive reuse of historic properties; and <br /> <br />Demonstrate a public benefit. <br /> <br /> <br />Community Housing <br /> proposals that receive preference are those which: <br /> <br /> <br />maintain at least <br /> <br />Intermingle affordable and market rate housing at levels that exceed state requirements <br />for the percentage of affordable units; <br /> <br />Ensure long-term affordability; <br /> <br />Give priority to local residents, Town employees, and employees of local businesses; <br /> <br />Promote use of existing buildings or construction on previously developed or Town- <br />owned sites; <br /> <br />Provide housing that is harmonious in design, scale, setting and materials with the <br />surrounding community; and <br /> <br />Promote a socioeconomic environment that encourages diversity. <br /> <br /> <br />Recreational Land <br /> proposals that receive preference are those which: <br /> <br /> <br />Support multiple active and passive recreation uses; <br /> <br />Serve a significant number of residents; <br /> <br />Expand the range of recreational opportunities to serve Lexington residents of all ages; <br /> <br />Jointly benefit Conservation Commission and Recreation Committee initiatives; <br /> <br />Maximize the utility of recreational resources and land already owned by Lexington; and <br />6 <br /> <br /> <br />
