Meeting Attendees: Members - Nancy Adler, Dan Palant, Nancy Shepard (Chair), Lisah Rhodes Ex- Officio Member Attendees: Sheila Butts (Community Center Director), Charlotte Rodgers (Director of Human Services) Karen Simmons (Director of Recreation & Community Programs) Absent: Alessandro Alessandrini, Archana Singhal, John Zhu The meeting was called to order at 7: l Opm. 1. Minutes of November 17, 2016 The minutes from the November meeting were reviewed and unanimously accepted. 2. Member Representation • The Committee reviewed their tour of the Carriage House (CH) and how the space might be used. Dan Palant talked to Marilyn Fenollosa from the Community Preservation Act (CPA) committee to get some information on the CH. There are restrictions on the building because of its history. • Dan attended the Selectman's meeting and reported on a discussion about the potential uses for the Pelham Property (PP). A possible idea being discussed is for the school part of property to be used for the Lexington Children's Place (LCP) and the gymnasium and cafeteria would be for municipal use. We discussed how the CH and PP could become part of a Community Center (CC) campus. There are plans to establish roads to connect the properties. • Going forward, our committee will want to suggest possible uses for the CH and the PP. We discussed some ideas. Lisah Rhodes suggested that the gym could be used for Pickleball, Volleyball and Badminton for adults and the kitchen could be used for cooking and nutrition classes. Other suggestions were for a cable production facility and STEM classes. • The Committee talked about how the committee can be more informed about what is being discussed by other committees.
