Permanent Building Committee (PBC) <br />201 Bedford Street, Room 221 <br />June 30, 2016 <br />Members Present:, Eric Brown, Chuck Favazzo, Dick Perry, Peter Johnson, Phil Coleman, Lee Noel <br />Chase, Howard Hobbs, Margaret Coppe, Curt Barrentine, Andrew Clarke <br />Members Absent: Carl Oldenburg, Jon Himmel, Edwin Goodell <br />Guests: Ken DiNisco - DiNisco Design Partnership; Paul Kalous -Hill International, Mike Lambert & <br />David Doherty — Bond Bros. Construction <br />Lexington DPF: Patrick Goddard, Director of Public Facilities and Mark Barrett, RA Project Manager <br />Eric called the meeting to order at 7:OOpm <br />1. General Business <br />• The members reviewed the PBC minutes dated May 19, 2016, as amended. <br />Motion to approve PBC Committee minutes dated May, 19, 2016 as amended — APPROVED. <br />2. Hastings Update <br />Pat Goddard provided an update on the OPM selection. OPM proposals were received, and the <br />Selection Committee of Jon Himmel, Dick Perry, Peter Johnson, Pat Goddard, and Mark Barrett <br />reviewed all seven proposals and ranked each firm for interview. Colliers International, PMA <br />Consultants, Hill International and Dore & Whittier were the top scoring 4 firms that were interviewed. <br />After all the interviews, the selection committee deliberated and ranked Dore and Whittier the #1 firm, <br />followed very closely by Hill International. Dore & Whittier's key personnel's backgrounds in the <br />construction industry were thought to be an advantage in dealing with value engineering work in design <br />and cost control in construction. <br />Next steps <br />• Selection Narrative to MSBA by July 6. <br />• MSBA board meeting on August 1 was to confirm the selection (PBC members are invited to <br />attend). <br />• Designer selection is the next step. <br />• Eric, Andrew and Curt all volunteered to be on the Designer Selection Committee. <br />• Lexington gets 3 votes on a 14 member Designer Selection Committee with MSBA <br />representatives having the remaining 11 votes. <br />• Designer selection work will largely take place in the fall, further notices will go out. <br />PBC Meeting 06.30.16 Page 1 <br />
