: , <br /> ARTICLE 4 ASSESSORS - BLIND <br /> EXEMPTION <br /> To see if the Town will vote to accept Clause Thirty-seventh A of Section 5 of <br /> Chapter 59 of the General Laws relating to tax exemptions for blind persons; or <br /> act in any other manner in relation thereto. <br /> (Inserted by the Board of Selectmen) <br /> DESCRIPTION: The existing clause 37 entitles blind property owners to an <br /> exemption of $437.50 for their domicile. Clause 37A increases the <br /> exemption to $500.00. <br /> ARTICLE 5 RETIREMENT BOARD <br /> INDEMNIFICATION <br /> To see if the Town will vote to accept Section 20A of Chapter 32 of the General <br /> Laws relating to indemnification of members of the Board of Retirement for <br /> expenses and damages arising out of any claim in connection with their official <br /> duties; or act in any other manner in relation thereto. <br /> (Inserted at the request of the Retirement Board) <br /> DESCRIPTION: Passage of this article would indemnify members of the <br /> Retirement Board for expenses incurred in the defense of any and all <br /> claims arising out of any civil action brought as a result of acts <br /> performed within the scope of their official duties. <br /> ARTICLE 6 SCHOOL FOUNDATION <br /> To see if the Town will vote to authorize the Selectmen to petition the General <br /> Court for an act to permit the School Department to establish a revolving fund <br /> for receipts derived from the sale or licensing of materials and productions and <br /> from services in connection therewith; or act in any other manner in relation <br /> thereto. <br /> (Inserted at the request of the School Committee) <br /> DESCRIPTION: This article would allow the School Department to establish a <br /> revolving fund to be used in conjunction with School Department materials <br /> and services which may be developed and sold. <br /> ARTICLE 7 AUTHORIZE SPECIAL LEGISLATION <br /> TO ALLOW TAX LEVY TO GO TO 21% <br /> To see if the Town will vote to authorize the Selectmen to petition the General <br /> Court for an act to permit the Town to levy taxes to an amount not exceeding two <br /> and one-half per cent of the full and fair cash value of the property values of <br /> the Town without regard to Chapter 782 of the Acts of 1981; or act in any other <br /> manner in relation thereto. <br /> (Inserted at the request of the Town Manager) <br />
