DESCRIPTION: This article requests funds to replace deteriorated equipment at the Pine <br /> Meadows Golf Club. These funds will be used to purchase a new Jacobson Green King V, a <br /> Cushman Truckster, a Smithco Super Rake and a new Smithco Sprayer to maintain turf <br /> quality. This is part of a program plan prepared and approved by the Recreation Committee <br /> in 1990. <br /> ARTICLE 22 PLAYGROUNDS AND RECREATIONAL <br /> FACILITIES IMPROVEMENTS <br /> To see if the Town will appropriate a sum of money to make improvements at selected <br /> playgrounds, tennis courts and ball fields; determine whether the money shall be provided by the <br /> tax levy, by transfer from available funds, including the recreation enterprise fund, or by any <br /> combination of these methods; or act in any other manner in relation thereto. <br /> (Inserted at the request of the Recreation Committee) <br /> FUNDS REQUESTED: $25,000 <br /> DESCRIPTION: This is an annual request to provide facility improvements to playgrounds, <br /> tennis courts and ball fields. This article requests funds to upgrade the playground at <br /> Sutherland Park. <br /> ARTICLE 23 SCHOOL CAPITAL PROJECT <br /> To see if the Town will appropriate a sum of money to remodel, reconstruct and make <br /> extraordinary repairs to school buildings and purchase additional equipment therefor; determine <br /> whether the money shall be provided by the tax levy,by transfer from available funds,by <br /> borrowing, or by any combination of these methods; or act in any other manner in relation <br /> thereto. <br /> (Inserted by the School Committee) <br /> FUNDS REQUESTED: $5,040,950 <br /> DESCRIPTION: This article requests funding for the purchase and installation of thirteen <br /> portable classrooms at the elementary and secondary school level; replacement of the roofs <br /> on G and H buildings at Lexington High School and the Industrial Arts wing of Diamond <br /> Middle School; repairs to the heating and ventilation systems at Bowman and Bridge <br /> Elementary Schools; repairs to the School Administration Building to bring the building into <br /> compliance with the Americans for Disabilities Act; and parking and roadway construction to <br /> improve access to both Diamond Middle School and Lexington High School. <br /> If Article 1 of the Special Town Meeting is approved, the funds requested in both this article <br /> and Article 24 will be reduced by $1,500,000. <br /> • <br /> 20 <br />
