ARTICLE 14 PUBLIC WORKS EQUIPMENT <br /> To see if the Town will appropriate a sum of money for the purchase of equipment for the <br /> Department of Public Works; determine whether the money shall be provided by the tax levy, by <br /> transfer from available funds, including any special water and sewer funds,by borrowing, or by <br /> any combination of these methods; or act in any other manner in relation thereto. <br /> (Inserted by the Board of Selectmen) <br /> FUNDS REQUESTED: $459,000 <br /> DESCRIPTION: This article requests funds for new and replacement public works <br /> equipment. This year's funds will provide for the purchase of 6 pieces of equipment. Total <br /> estimated cost of this equipment is $459,000. Of this amount, $97,000 is to come from the <br /> Water and Sewer Enterprise Funds for the purchase of a dump truck. <br /> ARTICLE 15 TOWN BUILDING ENVELOPE PROGRAM <br /> To see if the Town will appropriate a sum of money to remodel, reconstruct and make <br /> extraordinary repairs to town buildings; determine whether the money shall be provided by the <br /> tax levy, by transfer from available funds, by borrowing, or by any combination of these <br /> methods; or act in any other manner in relation thereto. <br /> (Inserted by the Board of Selectmen) <br /> FUNDS REQUESTED: $287,600 <br /> DESCRIPTION: This article requests funds to finance a number of small but important <br /> building capital repairs. The FY99 request includes roof repairs at Cary Hall and an <br /> emergency generator replacement, which were underfunded in FY98. Additionally, FY99 <br /> projects include but are not limited to the following: replace reservoir building roof; exterior <br /> repairs, roof repair, boiler replacement and restroom repairs at the Police Station; ADA <br /> modifications to elevators and entries and ADA signage at the Town Office Building and roof <br /> repair and upgrade of the ventilation system at the DPW building. <br /> ARTICLE 16 BEDFORD STREET TRAFFIC SIGNALS <br /> To see if the Town will appropriate a sum of money for the design and installation of pedestrian <br /> signals at the bikeway crossing on Bedford Street and at the intersection of Sunny Knoll <br /> Avenue/Bedford Street/DPW Facility driveway; determine whether the money shall be provided <br /> by the tax levy,by transfer from available funds,by borrowing, or by any combination of these <br /> methods; or act in any other manner in relation thereto. <br /> (Inserted by the Board of Selectmen) <br /> FUNDS REQUESTED: $150,000 <br /> 17 <br />
