10 feet from the bike path.
➢Ashley and Steve are working on this project.
➢The next Discovery Day will take place in May as previously planned.
It was postponed in 2022 because of the weather. This project could
be advertised through Discovery day. 2023.
❖Porch/ Lawn Fest ( Small scale to start with)
Potential dates :May or June. We will look at July too.
Members interested by this project :Ashley, Lisa,Anwell,Marie
To do :
➢Select a neighborhood in Lexington to host 15 to 20 bands. It should
be a walkable area. Porch Fest can last a few hours. Each “porch”
could have two bands. One element of oversight is to not have bands
too close to each other : perhaps 3 to a block. The streets selected are
usually not shut down to traffic, but they should be easily accessed by
pedestrians.
➢Looking for Bands: Existing amateur bands, student bands as well as
singing groups. (Lexington Symphony, Lexpops …). Anwell
volunteered to reach out to local musicians.
➢No admission fee but we could thank the bands with some
advertising : hiring professional photog raphers or videographers and
using LexMedia.
Newsletter:
Ashley and Steve will write the next newsletter that could
❖Announce the next projects.
❖Announce events that are taking place in town in 2022-2023
❖Ashley will connect with Jessie about these dates since she updates the CAAL
newsletter.
Meeting Adjourned at:
Motioned by: Steve
Seconded by: Ashley
