We agree that the new website should have the double mission of
informing people about what happens in Lexington as well as spotlight
and follow the work of our grantees. The following suggestions were
made:
- We are thinking about creating a calendar of events and spotlight
the different organizations for everybody to see what is going on
in Lexington.
- Anwell is offering to teach a group of council volunteers how to
update the website.
- We will be adding our grantees on the calendar and also create a
page for each of them. One member of the council will be in
charge of acting as a liaison. Pictures will be taken when the
grantees' work will be finished and added to the grantee page on
the website.
V. Council and project updates
• Utility boxes: 3 in the Historical District. These have been
approved. There were many strong contenders for artists, a very
diverse group.
• Haiku : solicit haiku poems from the community along with some
illustrations. There will be workshops run by poets and by
professional sign painters. There will be an opening ceremony.
We are partnering with the Library which will be hosting
workshops, and we are also partnering with the Historical Sty.
• There will be lots of work to do ( ceremony, door to door to
ask stores to participate...) we have a project manager.
• The celebration will take place in July. (Mid July. week
days- Late afternoon/evening)
• The haiku project will be over by July 4th.
• This project will help the shops.
• Lisa points out that many people will be scattering during
the summer.
• Discovery day is in May ( Saturday the 5th). We will have a booth
and will need volunteers.
