i- The entire amount asked for this year is ` 225,125.21 against 1200,333.57 last year. The increase is accounted for as follows : Salary increases $7,245.45. Five additional teachers were engarred last September 1, 1945. These were one Guidance Man, one Physical Education teacher for the Element :ry Schools, one extra teacher for Junior F.igh, and two extra teachers for the Elementary Schools . The amount required was 6,6,500.00. Two more additional teachers are to be hired as of September 1, 1946 requiring $1,530.00; one is for the uI gh School, and one for the Elementary. There are approximately forty teachers not at maimum. The amount required for them is `;14,500.00. There are five teachers not yet back from the Armed Service. The amount necessary for them is t5, 100.00 . This year the School is asking for a full-time painter at 11,800.00. T'--i_s is an increase over the amount asked :"or last year in the Budget for a part-time painter. There is a new salary schedule on Professional 'study amounting to ``31975.00; Extra Coach ng amounts to :300.00. Mr. Ames stated they wanted to do a bit more coaching in the Junior and Senior High School. Increases for Janitors - .288.00. There is an increase in most all of the salaries. A new salary schedule has been set up for them which becomes effective as of April 1, 1946. Some of the changes in the Schedule are as follows : Roland N. Hayes - $35.65 to $37.00 Thomas Ryan, Jr. 40.25 to 41.00 Kenealy 34.50 to 36.00 Thomas Sullivan (To remain at $40.00) Thomas Cavanaugh 36.80 to 38.00 A. Bacigalupo 34.50 to 35.00 Arthur Lee 36 .80 to 38.00 Mr. Ames stated that the ma-imum set for a Maintenance Van was 150.00 per week; Head Janitor, X45.00; Assistant Janitor ''37.00; Fireman, ; 41.00: and Elementary School Janitors, '40.00.
