1&4 <br /> All moneys received by way of grant <br /> from the Federal Government on account <br /> of this project shall be applied first <br /> to meet the cost of constr�lction" thereof <br /> ( including preliminary expenses) , and any <br /> balance thereof shall be applied to payment <br /> of the loan herein authorized. <br /> The Selectmen are hereby authorized and <br /> directed to accept on behalf of the Town, <br /> for use in carrying out such project a <br /> Federal Grant of money pursuant to the <br /> Emergency Relief Appropriation Act of <br /> 1935, and the Selectmen are authorized to <br /> proceed with the construction of said <br /> project and enter into all necessary and <br /> proper contracts and agreements in respect <br /> thereto, all subject to applicable Federal <br /> regulations; and the Selectmen are authorized <br /> to do all other acts and things necessary or <br /> convenient for obtaining said grant, for <br /> making said loan, and for constructing said <br /> project. <br /> YES <br /> NO <br /> REFERENDUM PETITION <br /> Question Number II. To vote upon the following question <br /> Presented to the voters at large by the <br /> Selectmen, pursuant to a petition for a <br /> referendum upon a vote rejecting a measure <br /> at the Special Town Meeting held on October <br /> 21, 1935 : <br /> Article 8. <br /> Voted that the Town erect a new High <br /> School building and that for the purpose <br /> of financing its construction and to <br /> enable the town to secure the benefits <br /> of the joint resolution of Congress <br /> known as the Emergency Relief Appropriation <br /> Act of 1935, the Town appropriate the sum <br /> of $300,000.00 and if such construction is <br /> approved by the Emergency Finance Board and <br /> the Governor of Massachusetts, and the <br /> proper Federal authorities have approved a <br /> grant therefor of federal money, as provided <br /> in Chapter 366 of the Acts of 1933 as amended <br /> by Chapter 404 of the Acts of 1935, and <br /> that for the purpose of meeting the said <br /> appropriation the treas';rer, with the approval <br /> of the Selectmen be and he hereby is authorized <br /> to borrow the sum of 8190,000.00, and to <br /> issue bonds of notes of the town therefor <br /> under authority of and in accordance with the <br /> provisions of said statute, said bonds or <br /> notes to be payable in not more than twenty _ <br /> years at such term and maximum rate of <br /> interest as may be fixed by the Emergency <br /> Finance Board. <br /> All moneys received by way of grant from the <br /> Federal Government on account of this project <br /> shall be applied first to meet the cost of <br /> construction thereof ( including preliminary <br /> expenses) , and any balance thereof shall be <br /> applied to payment of the loan herein <br /> authorized. <br /> YES <br /> NO <br />
