MassDOT about multi-modal accommodation on streets in the Commonwealth. <br />Peggy suggested to John Livsey that the town sponsor its own 3-hour workshop; <br />he is trying to arrange a 6-hour session and agreed to ask about a 3-hour <br />session, as well. <br />7. Other Business: <br />Jerry Van Hook mentioned that the Sidewalk Committee is <br />proposing signage on conservation land boardwalks to make sure that people <br /> <br />walk their bikes and yield to pedestrians for safety reasons. <br /> <br /> <br />Discussions of the Friends of Lexington Bikeways <br /> <br />1. Treasurer’s Report: <br /> Received a donation from Sweet Escapes Cycle to the <br />Sea. <br /> <br />2. Bikeway Cleanup (May 5): <br />Less trash was found on the Bikeway during the <br />cleanup. One additional volunteer joined the effort, but otherwise section leaders <br /> <br />worked on their own. <br /> <br />3. Bike Tours on Saturday, May 19 (with R.S.C.): <br />Laurel has put together ride <br />sheets for two different rides – a north route and a south route. Laurel will lead <br />morning ride, Stew the one in the afternoon. Need to get waivers signed by <br /> <br />participants. Bay State Bike Week swag will be given out to participants. <br /> <br />4. Bike Donation Day and Discovery Day (5/26): <br />The 14 Muzzey Street <br />businesses once again have agreed to let us use their parking lot for bike <br /> <br />donations ; a booth will be set up for Discovery Day. <br /> <br />5. MassBike Rides in Lexington on July 28: <br />Will start at LHS. The Susan Komen <br />event will be on the same weekend. MassBike has told us that they will need <br /> <br />some help with this event. <br /> <br />6. <br />Laurel displayed a biking tee shirt from Arlington and talked about doing <br />something similar here to encourage cycling, e.g., “Join the Pedal Revolution!” <br />There was enthusiasm for the idea. <br /> <br />7.
