Paul Callahan (Police Liaison), <br />Sandra Shaw (Recreation Committee <br />Members Absent: Laurel Carpenter <br />Minutes: The August 2012 minutes were accepted as corrected. <br />LBAC Memberships: Jerry Van Hook and Laurel Carpenter have chosen not to <br />continue serving on the LBAC. The committee thanks them for their years of <br />service; Jerry has been a 20 -year charter member of both the Bicycle Advisory <br />Committee and the Friends of the Bikeway. He has agreed to be an informal <br />liaison from the Sidewalk Committee. Peggy reported that Laurel hopes to <br />continue her contributions as a member of the Friends. Peggy reported that <br />Patria Lanfranchi and Bob Dangel are applying for LBAC membership; the <br />committee unanimously supported their nomination. John Frey will be <br />recommended for reappointment. There was some discussion about whether <br />there should be term limits for the committee chair. <br />Mass Ave Bike Accommodations: The committee's recommendations <br />regarding sharrows and wide shoulder striping in the section between Worthen <br />Road and the 128 bridge were accepted. The committee discussed the recent <br />temporary paving in Lexington Center and the desire to have sharrows as well as <br />a pilot bike box. Richard Canale agreed to draft a letter to the DPW. <br />DCR Grant for Minuteman Bikeway User Information: Members are asked to <br />help with the existing features inventory. Toole Design will hold a training session <br />in early October. Toole will post the edited Bikeway user survey on -line next <br />week. Paper copies and flyers will be distributed it at this month's Farmers' <br />Market. Peggy distributed the most recent version of one side of the proposed <br />Bikeway map. The committee agreed that green spaces and contiguous bike <br />routes should be shown. <br />
