<br /> <br /> <br /> <br />MEETING MINUTES <br /> <br />Committee Name: Bicycle Advisory Committee <br /> <br />Date, Time and Location of Meeting: <br />August 14, 2008; 7 pm; Rm 111, Town Office <br />Bldg <br /> <br />Members Present: <br />Marita Hartshorn, Stew Kennedy (BAC chair),Richard Canale <br />(Planning), Jerry VanHook, Mike Tabaczynski <br /> <br />Others Present: <br /> Rich Spencer, Christine Lokin-Kim, Jim Nevins, Bob Dangel <br /> <br />Members Absent: <br />Sandra Shaw (Recreation), Abe Shenker (FoLB Chair), Hank Manz <br />(Selectmen’s Liaison), George Gagliardi, Peggy Enders, John Frey <br /> <br />Issues discussed <br /> <br />Jim Nevins from the Burlington Bicycle Path Committee <br />shared a brochure of existing <br />and proposed bike paths in Burlington. Since there is no rail trail corridore, they work <br />with developers to provide bikepaths within Burlington which connect to neighboring <br />towns. <br /> <br />Landlocked portions of Burlington: <br />Mike Tabaczynski is working with citizens <br />concerned about the development of the portion of Burlington which is separated from <br />e <br />Burlington by Route 3. They would likto prevent the land from being over developed. <br /> <br />Membership: <br />Marita, Peggy, and George are up for reappointment. Marita agreed to <br />serve another term. Stew will check with George and Peggy. <br /> <br />Snowplowing Status: <br /> Stew in on the Selectemen’s agenda to make a case for plowing <br />the bikepath. Prior to the meeting he will meet with the police and the town manager in <br />order to anticipate potential questions. Friends of Lexington Bikeways are encouraged to <br />th <br />attend the Sept.8 meeting. <br /> <br />Subcommittee Report <br />CM district (Hartwell Ave) infrastructure: Terry Gleason, Jeff Roth, Stew, and Jerry met and <br />will continue to communicate via email regarding Hartwell Ave. infrastructure. Rich Canale <br />and the Planning Board walked both sides of Hartwell Ave. and will take into consideration, <br />pedestrian, bicycle, and mass transit needs when reviewing development. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />
