Peggy suggested to John Livsey that the town sponsor its own 3 -hour workshop; he is trying to arrange a 6 -hour session and agreed to ask about a 3 -hour session, as well. 7. Other Business: Jerry Van Hook mentioned that the Sidewalk Committee is proposing signage on conservation land boardwalks to make sure that people walk their bikes and yield to pedestrians for safety reasons. Discussions of the Friends of Lexington Bikeways 1. Treasurer's Report: Received a donation from Sweet Escapes Cycle to the Sea. 2. Bikeway Cleanup (May 5): Less trash was found on the Bikeway during the cleanup. One additional volunteerjoined the effort, but otherwise section leaders worked on their own. 3. Bike Tours on Saturday, May 19 (with R.S.C.): Laurel has put together ride sheets for two different rides — a north route and a south route. Laurel will lead morning ride, Stew the one in the afternoon. Need to get waivers signed by participants. Bay State Bike Week swag will be given out to participants. 4. Bike Donation Day and Discovery Day (5/26): The 14 Muzzey Street businesses once again have agreed to let us use their parking lot for bike donations ; a booth will be set up for Discovery Day. 5. MassBike Rides in Lexington on July 28: Will start at LHS. The Susan Komen event will be on the same weekend. MassBike has told us that they will need some help with this event. 6. Laurel displayed a biking tee shirt from Arlington and talked about doing something similar here to encourage cycling, e.g., "Join the Pedal Revolution!" There was enthusiasm for the idea. 7. Upcoming FoLB activities: • Farmers' Market Bike Corrals: Scheduled for 6/12, 7/10, 8/2, 9/18, 10/16. Next Meeting: Thursday, June 14, 7 pm in Room 111 of the Town Office Building.
