POLICE MANUAL POLICY COMMITTEE <br />Members: 7 (Chief of Police plus 6 residents, including one attorney) <br />Appointed by: Board of Selectmen <br />Length of Term: 1 year <br />Appointments made: September 30 <br />Meeting Times: As needed <br />Description: To review the Police Department Manual and to make recommendations to the Board of Selectmen <br />concerning revisions, amendments, and additions which may be deemed appropriate by the Committee. <br />The Committee reports to the Selectmen at least annually (one month prior to the closing of the warrant for the <br />Annual Town Meeting). <br />Criteria for Membership: The Board of Selectmen seeks to have a diversified group, including the Police Chief and <br />an attorney, comprise the membership of the committee. <br />Ref.: Article 76 of the 1976 Annual Town Meeting <br />Selectmen designated as Special Municipal Employees on September 9, 1985. <br />Selectmen reaffirmed designation as Special Municipal Employees on January 18, 2006. <br />
