MINUTES OF A SPECIAL MEETING OF THE APPROPRIATION COMMITTEE
May 20, 1943.
Chairman Lewis L. Hoyt contacted the following members
by telephone :
Richard W. Maynard Fred C. Newhall
George M. Hynes Carl E. Bryant
Ronald D. Brown Raymond A. Bond
The Trustees of the Cary Memorial Library had requested
a transfer of $200.00 from the Reserve Fund to the Cary Library -
Expenses Account to partially meet the expense of covering a wood
floor with linoleum in the Main Cary Memorial Library Building.
This Committee, however, wonders if this is a question
of unforeseen expense, as this situation has been existing for
sometime and should have been offered for consideration at the
time of submitting their annual budget.
However, the majority of the members of this Committee
contacted voted in favor of a transfer of $200.00 from the Reserve
Fund to the Cary Library - Expenses Account to take care of this
expense. Those voting in favor were : Richard W. Maynard, George M.
Hynes, Ronald D. Brown, Lewis L. Hoyt, Fred C. Newhall and Carl E.
Bryant. Mr. Raymond A. Bond voted against such a transfer.
The information that the Trustees gave to Mr. Lewis L.
Hoyt was that it would cort $185.00 to sand and wax the floor and
an annual upkeep cost. The cost of covering the floor with battle-
ship-gray linoleum is $392.00 for 156 yards. Mr. Sarano, Selectmen,
and Mr. Nason, Librarian of the Cary Memorial Library, saw Mr. Hoyt
in regards to this transfer. The cork flooring is bad but will stay
as it is.
Respectfully submitted,
C
Secretary
