Minutes for Thursday, October 6, 2011 in Selectmen’s Meeting Room of Town Hall at 7:00 P.M.

FORMAL HEARINGS
1412 Massachusetts Avenue
: Theresa & Serene Forte presented pictures of old walkway and driveway
and pictures of the new walkway and driveway. Driveway will replace pea stone and wood landscape
timbers with Unilock Brussell Block pavers (Sierra color) following existing path. Walkway will be
Unilock Brussel Block – Sierra and Entryway will be fieldstone risers with bluestone treads. The
commission voted 5-0 to issue a certificate of appropriateness to replace the driveway walkway and stairs
with the designated materials. Certificate No. 2011C-80

1690-1692 Massachusetts Avenue
: Kathy Ready, representing Turtle Bay Limited Partnership,
presented a picture of a signage change: Massachusetts Avenue side only. Sign will be flat cut out
Aluminum letters, ¾” thick. Certificate No. C2011C-81

22 Hancock Street
: Brandon Callahan presented architectural designs to add a chimney to the right rear
of the house with the type of brick and color to match the rest of the house. The Commission voted 5-0 to
issue a certificate of appropriateness for the addition of the chimney. Certificate No 2011C-82

15 Hastings Road:
Karl Damitz, Four Fold Designs, representing Elizabeth Lin presented a small
mudroom addition to be located at existing side entrance with wooden windows, removal of shutter on the
garage, flat rood with low pitch, integrated gutter with internal gutter, downspout and catch basin with
pea stone membrane. The commission voted 5-0 to issue a certificate of appropriateness for the
mudroom with above description. Certificate No 2011C-83

: Michael and Sharon Cassetari presented a sample of pewter wood, arch style
shingles. The commission voted 5-0 to issue a certificate of appropriateness for the above shingle.

4 Grant Street
: David Pinsonneault, Town of Lexington presented pictures of the installation of two (2)
electric charging stations in the NStar parking lot. This will convert 3 parking spaces into 2 extra wide
parking spaces. Shrubs will be placed around the charging stations and the spelling on the signs will be
fixed. The commission voted 5-0 to issue a certificate of appropriateness for the two (2) charging stations
and shrubbery with all wiring being underground. Certificate No C2011-85

35 Hancock Street:
Mr. Hancock presented a drawing of placement of the fence. The commission voted
5-0 to issue a certificate of appropriateness for the fence only (certificate has not yet been issued because I
am waiting for particulars about the fence). Mr. Carroll also talked about a common driveway and
parking issues. He said that there was an agreement to forfeit parking for a cobbled front. Cobbled apron
will e the same material as the driveway with a turn-about onto Hancock Street. The committee asked that
he lay out stakes so they could drive by and see what he proposed to do and Mr. Carroll agreed.
Driveway continued to November 10, 2011.

475 Massachusetts Avenue
: Timothy Greene, representing AT&T proposed placing two (2) 12 inch-18
inch tubes mounted on the cable run and painted black, placed on the back of the Church and will barely
be seen from the front. Each tube will hold GPS, 4G network unit. The applicant is ready for a formal
hearing.
910 Massachusetts Avenue
: Ruth Rose presented with a request to change a second floor balcony door
that is in disrepair. Storm door will remain. The door will be painted white with twelve glass window
panes. Mrs. Rose is ready for a formal hearing.
9 Brigham Road
: Chip Webster, representing David and Judy Crayer with a request to remove mutins
from the rear windows. They showed a number of varied windows in their neighborhood. The Board
agreed to only the removal of mutins from rear window.
OTHER BUSINESS
Mr. Welch brought up the Muzzey School and said he would go and check on the window in question on
the left side of the building, between two columns.
A joint meeting has been scheduled with the Historical Commission for November 17, 2011 at 7:00 PM
