The applicant is re-using backside of Mother Earth Natural Foods for new sign. . The Commission voted 5-0 to issue a certificate of appropriateness for new entrance and signage. Certificate no. 2011C-73 Daniel Griffin, Robert Warshawer, And Scott Kyle Associate Voting Commissioners were: Chairman Joseph Welch, Commissioner: Carl Oldenburg 1690 Massachusetts Avenue : map 48 lot 31 Kevin Latady, Latady Design LLC, representing, Turtle Bay Limited Partnership, presented detailed construction plans for new railing and a detailed drawing of two bike racks. In order to define the edge of the parking lot, the applicant is proposing to copy the brick and metal fencing approved for Panera Bread on the left side of the parking lot. Extend the front brick and curb cut to match the other sides. Two bike racks will be placed behind the new left side fencing and the area behind the fencing will be asphalt painted with stripes The Commission votes 5-0 to issue a certificate of appropriateness for 2 new bike racks, new railing, extended new brick front and curb cuts and asphalt with painted stripes. Certificate no 2011C-77 Daniel Griffin, Robert Warshawer, And Scott Kyle Voting Commissioners were: Chairman Joseph Welch, Associate Commissioner: Carl Oldenburg 1132 Massachusetts Avenue : map 30 lot 39 Chian-Shan I, presented new roof shingles. This work was previously done and was observed by the Commissioners and noted to be appropriate. Commission voted 5-0 to issue a certificate of appropriateness for new architectural shingles. Certificate no 2011C-74 Daniel Griffin, Robert Warshawer, And Scott Kyle Voting Commissioners were: Chairman Joseph Welch, Associate Commissioner: Carl Oldenburg 1734 Massachusetts Avenue: map 48 lot 34 Colin Smith, Colin Smith Architecture, representing J & R Realty, presented a specifications sheet of the proposed windows. These are all wood windows by Jeld-wen. Commission voted 5-0 to issue a certificate of appropriateness for new second floor windows. Commission voted 5-0 to issue a certificate of appropriateness for second air conditioning unit. Certificate no 2011C-76 Daniel Griffin, Robert Warshawer, And Scott Kyle Associate Voting Commissioners were: Chairman Joseph Welch, Commissioner: Carl Oldenburg 20 Waltham Street : map 48 lot 35 David Cobb, Buca Di Beppo Inc. He presented color samples and photographs showing existing and proposed color changes. Commissioners asked if the temporary signage was removed and the applicant said yes. Commissioners voted 5-0 to issue a certificate of appropriateness for color change. Certificate no 2011C-78 Daniel Griffin, Robert Warshawer, And Scott Kyle Associate Voting Commissioners were: Chairman Joseph Welch, Commissioner: Carl Oldenburg CONTINUED HEARINGS 35 Hancock Street: , map 56 Lot 46Patrick Carrollpresented drawing of landscapingand a cut sheet of garage door and hinge. Commission voted 5-0 to issue a certificate of appropriateness for exterior hardscape. Certificate no 2011C-79 Daniel Griffin, Robert Warshawer, And Scott Kyle Associate Voting Commissioners were: Chairman Joseph Welch, Commissioner: Carl Oldenburg INFORMAL HEARINGS 15 Hastings Road : map 50 lot 211A Karl Damitz, Four Folds Designs, representing Elizabeth Lin, presented a proposal to enclose area between driveway and house. The Commission recommended for the applicant to review the roofing choices. The Commission believes he is moving in the right direction and is ready for a formal hearing. 52 B Waltham Street : map 48 lot 7 unit 2 Theresa D’Antuono, Grant Cole Real-estate, she explained that their siding was damaged during the construction of 1720 Massachusetts Avenue and they need to re-do it. The Commission recommended that they check under the existing siding to see the condition of the existing clapboard. The applicant will check into this and report back to the Commission. OTHER BUSINESS Upon motion duly made and seconded it was voted 5-0 to approve the minutes of August 4, 2011 Upon motion duly made and seconded it was voted to adjourn the meeting at 8:30 PM
