: Colin Smith, Colin Smith Architecture, representing, Victoria & Don Sullivan, presented plans of the
proposed house and hardscape. The Hancock-Clarke Historic District encompasses only part of this property. The District
line never touched the existing house; however, the line does touch a corner of the detached Garage. After following
proper building department procedures a demolition permit for the house was applied for and approved. Approval from
the Historic District Commission is required for a demolition permit for the detached Garage. The placement of the new
home on the property brings it under Historic District jurisdiction. The commission members liked the design and
materials used for the home. A few commissioners were concerned that the home was not appropriate for the street scape.
The commission felt the discussion should be continued due to the amount of information to be reviewed and felt a special
hearing was in order.
