Votes: • April 30 meeting Minutes - approved • May 14 ACROSS Lexington Subcommittee Minutes -approved 2. Current Business Updates: • Drummer Boy trail easement (Bob /Stew) — still w/ Drummer Boy board; we will wait for their next step. • Highland Ave/Pelham Road (Bob) — Bob has contacted abutters and will keep working with them. • Wood Street trail improvement (Paul) — Keith noted that Jay Sklar has broken the project into two parts. The first part will connect Conestoga Rd to Bates Rd, and does not impact the wetland area. The trail segment that includes the wetland area will be a different permit application for a later date. • Diamond Trail project (Stew) — a Scout has agreed to do the trail work as an Eagle project. Mike, Bob & Stew scheduled a walk for 5/22/12 to flag the trail route. The work will probably be done in July. Stew also spoke with Ginna Johnson regarding her work on the DMS landscape committee • Action Item — Bob — Highland/Pelham follow -up • Action Item — Alex — contact Ginna Johnson 3. Current Business Review: Report on ACROSS Lexington project Mike presented his comprehensive trail marking system that is intended for all trails in town. He showed a spreadsheet that includes sign descriptions, install methods, marker types, and much more. We had a discussion about what it would actually look like in the field, which was met with general approval. Questions came up regarding our Town information on Google Maps or Open Street Map websites. The Town needs to oversee that. The Town will also need to approve Mike's plan before giving signage permissions to ACROSS. We need to keep Peggy's bikeway signage group apprised of GCC signage work, and it would be helpful if Peggy could keep us abreast of what her consultant is working on. Further discussion regarding the order in which we need to seek approvals from the Town and the Historic Districts Commission. Deb will look into that, and suggested that we have Dave Pinsonneault from DPW with us when we talk to HDC. Rick and Keith will be meeting with John Livsey to discuss the Myrna Rd crossing on Adams St Eileen and Rick attended a Sidewalk Committee meeting to present ACROSS Lexington to them. No further action is needed there. Rick had a map from Judy Crocker for Safe Routes to School routes to Bowman School. Action Item — Mike - Refine trail signage presentation to include simple visuals showing proposed trail directional signs for both ACROSS Lexington and internal Conservation property trails, present to Steward Directors for comments, revise as necessary and then work with ACROSS Lexington Subcommittee to prepare presentation to Conservation Commission preceded by an informal meeting with Karen to review plan. Action Item — ACROSS subcommittee — Finalize route map for presenting to HDC, ConCom and BOS 4. New Business: June 6 Transportation forum Rick and Stew will attend. DeVincent property purchase by Brookhaven Brookhaven has purchased a piece of property that has a trail easement in a prior development plan, but that easement agreement, not having been recorded, evaporated with the sale of the property. The easement would have made a connection to Lot 1 if Brookhaven granted permission for use of an existing sidewalk. We should work with Brookhaven on this. Kate Fricker, Alan West and Marie Roberts, Brookhaven residents, would be good allies on this project. As we discussed how to approach Brookhaven as an administrative unit we thought it would be good to do an ACROSS Lexington presentation at Brookhaven. Rick & Keith will work on that. • Action Item — Rick/Keith — Brookhaven presentation Action Items Alex — contact Virginia Johnson Bob — Highland/Pelham follow -up Mike — Trail signage presentation ACROSS subcommittee — Finalize route map Rick/Keith — Brookhaven presentation Next Meeting: June 25, 4:30 -6 pm, Legion Room, Cary Hall Remaining 2012 Meeting Dates: 4:30 — 6 pm, Legion Room, Cary Hall June 25 July 23 September 24 October 22 November 26 December 17 Future Agenda Items: • Fall — Develop revised West Lexington Greenway plan.
