David Williams opened the meeting at 4:35 and introduced Mr, Filadoro who explained his job
description. He will be our DPW contact.
Brian Kelley reported on the fundraising for the bathroom facility. He explained that the letter he had
written will be sent to all leagues and anyone who reserves the fields at Lincoln Park. He may go to a
Little League board meeting to explain the construction.
Nell Walker reported on Garlic Mustard Day which will be a two day effort April 21 and 22 from 1-3.
DPW will pick up the bags of garlic mustard on the 23rd. The volunteers will meet at Worthen Road.
Besides Nell,Josh Perlstein and possibly Liz Heitz will be on hand to oversee the effort.
The sprinklers will be turned on Friday,April 20. There was a discussion of watering plantings and
especially the trees on Worthen Road,
Wes Wirth had walked with Bob Barnard (Landscaping)through the park to discuss the maintenance.
Mr. Barnard was somewhat overwhelmed by the scope of the work that would need to be done. He
said that he would talk to Partierre and maybe use them as a subcontractor. Vanessa from Partierre
could work with his crew. Mr.Wirth has also talked to John Hamilton, formerly with Lussier, about the
maintenance contract. He is waiting for cost estimates and proposals from both of them. He expects
that eleven one day visits every two weeks during the growing season(22 weeks)would be adequate.
Wes also presented the committee with a draft of the signs which are proposed for the entrances and
the area near the podium.
Mr. Williams asked Wendy Rudner about replacements for himself and Lynne Wilson. They have not yet
been selected.
Brian Kelley suggested that a letter to the editor or guest editorial in the Minute-Man would be helpful
with the fundraising.
Wes Wirth told the group that he was working with the park department on the replacement of the
trees in the parking lot. Mr, Filadoro was asked about the replacement of street trees along Lincoln St.
There is no master plan to replace them at this time.
