The following policies for distribution of the Fund for Lexington for Human Services activities were
affirmed:
1. The Fund for Lexington will supplement the Human Services Fund to ensure at least $5,000 is
distributed annually. The Human Services Coordinator will report quarterly on the distribution of
funds to both the Fund for Lexington and the Public Trusts.
2. For `large requests' i.e. those that could deplete the Human Services Fund, the Human Services
Coordinator, after appropriate internal review, will continue to present cases to the Fund for
Lexington Board. Approval of these expenditures may be by poll vote (Phone or e -mail) with
subsequent ratification at a scheduled meeting.
3. The Human Services Coordinator will draft a public relations program for the Fund for Lexington.
Among the suggested vehicles for promoting the Fund are:
• A brochure similar to the Human Services Fund or combining the services of the Fund
for Lexington and the Human Services Fund into one brochure
• Distribution of the brochure(s) at Stop &Shop, local banks
• Seek recommendations from the Clergy Association
• Ask town employees e.g. police, DPW involved in emergency response efforts in the
community to help identify clients
Approved $4000 gift to the Liberty Ride Lexington to Concord Pilot Program
The Chair of the Board of Selectmen has nominated Dawn McKenna as Chair of the Fund for Lexington
Board and Richard Pagett as the second Selectmen representative.
