Waltham Street Sign: a. Reduce length of sign to not exceed six feet (6' -0 ") and adjust height to be in proportion with length not to exceed three feet in height (3' -0 "). b.No internal illumination of sign. DAC suggest using external overhead goose neck type light fixture to light the sign. c. The DAC approves of the dark brown panel for behind the sign but recommends that it only be on the wall area and not be placed on the overhead roof canopy. Panel should not extend beyond existing windows or roofline and protrude out no more then the indicated three inches (3 " ). 2. Concord Avenue Sign: a. The DAC recognizes that this second sign does not comply with the current bylaw but find the proposed graphic to be more an architectural element then a sign and therefore acceptable for this project and location. b. The DAC recommends no illumination of this sign at all. Existing site lighting is adequate for lighting of sign at night. c. The DAC approves of the dark brown panel for behind the sign but recommends that it only be on the wall area and not be placed on the overhead roof canopy. The panel should not extend beyond existing windows or roofline and protrude out no more then the indicated three inches (3 ") as long as the panel does not impede the handicap accessible route code requirements. Additionally the panel should not impede the required handicap parking sign. The Design Advisory Committee recommends this project be approved pending compliance with the recommendations noted above.
