Minutes June 23, 2010

A. Meri Jenkins from the Adams Arts Grants has suggested we submit a planning
proposal for funding. Meri is a Lexington resident and spoke with us about the
possibilities of obtaining a matching planning grant up to $5,000. The purpose of
the grant to support cultural tourism in Massachusetts and is given by the State.
Implementation grants are also available for up to $75,000. We can use taxpayer
funding for the match of the grant. To apply there is a one page letter of intent
that will be due in the fall. Grant deadlines have not yet been set but they are
generally due in January. The program is changing this year so we will need to
await the new guidelines before taking any action. A report will be provided at
the next Tourism Committee meeting,,
There was no quorum so we could not formally adjourn. The meeting ended at
approximately 5:30 p.m.
