• Minutes for December 11, 2009 and January 11, 2010 reviewed. Motion duly made
and seconded to accept both minutes and accepted.
• Antony poster and plans for February 14 fundraiser presented.
• "Lexington Massachusetts" brochure reviewed for potential updates, including maps
of Mass Avenue and the Center as well as historic sites. Stakeholders are asked to
review the brochure and provide input on edits. Venue descriptions should include
address, phone, website and /or email, and dates /hours of operation. Additional
proposals include photos to replace sketches, color coding of attractions, a walking
route, and locations of restaurants, police, post office, restrooms, etc. Old Burying
Ground should be included. The Lexington Overview needs to be updated and the
Historic Houses / Special Places section may be restricted to those of interest to
tourists. Architectural Areas should be removed, but there was discussion of a 2nd
brochure aimed at residents that could include this information. A print run of at
least l OK should be run, using full color and photos. Optical character recognition
software can be employed to capture original text (Paul O'S will investigate).
• An update was provided by June Cobb on the National Heritage Museum: The name
has been changed to the Scottish Rite Museum and Library. Mission and exhibits
remain unchanged, but the name change reflects a greater emphasis on its Masonic
mission.
• MOTT Conference proposal by Dawn was discussed. Motion duly made and
seconded to use part of Tourism marketing funds on a Gold Sponsorship to
include three attendees. Motion accepted.
• Wouter Broekema (CTM) presented an on -line ticketing system through
www.ettractions.com as an on -line purchase option for the Liberty Ride.
Participation will be moved and voted upon at the next Tourism Committee meeting.
• Liberty Ride:
• Motion duly made and seconded to affirm April 17 -18 and May 29-
October 31 as dates of operation. Motion accepted.
• Motion duly made and seconded to affirm 10 am to 4 pm as hours of
operation. Motion accepted.
• Motion duly made and seconded to provide up to 12 hours of training for
Liberty Ride Guides. Motion accepted.
• Motion duly made and seconded to put the Liberty Ride in the Patriots
Day parade. Motion accepted.
• Need presented for a locked office space for the Liberty Ride.
• Meeting adjourned 6:30 pm.
