School Site Council Meeting Minutes
March 7, 2012 3:30- 4:30PM
• School Improvement Plan
- Changes in dates for completion/reporting, and generating new plans
Members of the site council reviewed and discussed the implementation of new timelines
for school improvement plans. The principal shared some strategies to help ease the
transition of those deadlines and how that may be done.

Discussion took place around using student gift account funds to purchase ELMO
technology for those teachers that had not gotten a device during the current school year.
Current enrollment numbers were shared with members of the site council and they were
updated as to how many names were currently identified as incoming kindergarten
students. Currently, three grades are presenting as grades that may possibly need an
additional teacher. Enrollment will be monitored through the spring and then class
numbers will be determined.

- Safety: Colony road speed /traffic
Debbie Hogan shared concerns around speed and pedestrians on Colony Road and
Adams Street. She noted that often times, cars exceeded the 20mph speed limit on
Colony Road which presented unsafe situations for students walking and biking to
school. Tom Martellone, Fiske Principal said he would contact Pat Goddard to see what
might be done to slow traffic down. Additionally, he said the school could work to send
out periodic reminders to parents.
