Minutes of meeting of January 19, 2011

A meeting of the Lexington Energy Conservation Committee was held on January 19,
2011 at 6pm in Room 125 of the Public Services Building on Bedford St.
Bill Hadley, Director of the Public Works Department of Lexington, gave the committee
an update on the installation of energy - efficient street lights in Lexington. All street lights
in Lexington — a total of 3428 — have been replaced with either compact fluorescents
(33%) or induction lamps (67 %). This project was funded partially from a Green
Communities grant and partially from an NSTAR rebate check and will lead to savings of
about $200000 in Lexington's annual energy expenses.
