capture unrecorded LEXPRESS riders was previously applied and explained by Sara
Arnold. It will be considered for FY03.

been publicized in the 2002 LEXPRESS transit guide, Senior Transportation Forum, and
bus articles in the Minuteman.
2. Transit Guide. A sample LEXPRESS schedule in compliance with the tax mailing format
was reviewed and approved. Printing and sending the guide with the tax bill offers a major
cost savings and ensures delivery to residents. The format emphasizes six routes, as
separate entities.
The excess 2001 maps will continue to be distributed with a summary sheet of 2002
updates. The MBTA quarterly maps will continue. Development of a transit guide
for distribution when the 2001 excess is depleted was raised.
3. Marketing. An upcoming Senior Newsletter will include a LEXPRESS promotion noting a
100%convenience rating by seniors in a recent survey and free ticket to ride LEXPRESS.
Grace Chapel is interested in purchasing interior ad space on the LEXPRESS bus. It has
been presented to the Town Manger and approved by legal counsel.

children's library activities. Children and accompanying adults presenting a library card
ride LEXPRESS for free to story time or preschool movies.
"Smart Tripper" Bill Levison distributed copies of a student transportation workbook
secured from the State of Washington. Adaptations will be made to correspond to
LEXPRESS. Lexington schools will be contacted to determine system interest in using this
publication. It could also be distributed at the library and to scout groups.
4. Chair Car Policy. The existing Chair Car Policy regarding"Purpose"was reviewed. The
issue resulted from an individual using the Chair Car to participate in a swimming program
3 times per week at the Woburn YMCA. Discussion of more defined wording was
inconclusive.A statement regarding"Purpose"will be sent prior to the September meeting
and the topic will be placed on the September agenda.
