Ed Ganshirt's Assignment - Ride LEXPRESS. TAC members were encouraged to periodically ride LEXPRESS to remain current with the system and its operation. A critique of a Route #3 trip was given and was very positive. One exception was a rattle emitted by the wheelchair mechanism. M & L will be contacted regarding insulation. 2. Route Review. As a second phase of route review, completion times were logged by all drivers for a one week period. Although buses are running close to schedule, the runs are very tight. Letters will be sent to solicit input from private residence complexes (special LEXPRESS stops) where there are usually no riders. This information will be used to assess continuation of theses special stops. 3. MBTA Route 76. As of December 29, 2001, this route was to be modified to accommodate exclusion form Hanscom Air Base and a ten minute route reduction time. Information provided by the MBTA did not correspond with observations of those present and clarification will be sought through the MBTA. 4. Tourism Shuttle. The Tourism bus shuttle is proposed to operate from July 1 through October 31, 2002. Two buses would operate seven days per week, loam to 5pm. Funding remains the main issue. 5. LEXPRESS Rider Survey. A Rider survey developed from a 128 Business Council form was reviewed and suggestions noted. The survey will be distributed to riders in January with the assistance of a DPW intern. 6. Marketing LEXPRESS. The initial response of the Lexington High School marketing teacher to develop a youth focused LEXPRESS ad campaign was positive. A meeting will be arranged in the beginning of the new semester. All documents from the 2002 Transit Guide should be compiled to direct future efforts. Concerns regarding the commitment of the graphic artist and thoroughness of postal route delivery were raised. 7. Hartwell Avenue TMA. A marketing brochure and preliminary survey geared to property owners is nearing completion. 8. Transportation Meeting: Gail Wagner attended the MAGIC meeting. It was a good opportunity to connect with other towns. State Transportation Improvement Grants and the Assabet Regional Bike path were the main topics. 9. Patriots Parade Banner. No research was conducted. 10. Minutes of December 12, 2001 meeting were approved. 11. Next Meeting. Wednesday, February 20, 2002.
