He was concerned that we expend a lot of effort on a report that misses the mark or is not needed. Brainstorming should yield a broad task force consensus. We should present our conclusions to the BoS and ask for their guidance and not get bogged down with focus groups at this time. Barry's expertise is marketing. He has been trying to get a sense of our assignment. He feels focus groups are not a good way to determine needs. Rather we should follow the Steve Jobs approach of gathering data and then developing our own definition for the product. To start with we should let our imaginations run wild. Then we can test our ideas. It was decided to brainstorm and then figure out how to proceed. At the end of the meeting it was decided to analyze the advantages and benefits of the features we came up with. Various assignments for work next week were made and are listed below. We will get back to together to review them the week after next. Barry agreed to come back and help with analysis. Several ideas were presented and discussed and questions raised.
