Lexpress Updates
➢ March riders were 67 less than last year. Student riders dropped when after school Spring
sports started.
➢ As of March 31, there is a total gain of 408 riders compared to last year.
➢ Past efforts by TAC members and staff to monitor drivers' accuracy in tracking riders
were reviewed.
➢ Drivers tracked riders on the Route 4 extension (Concord Avenue west of Waltham
Street) the week of April 11. Riders for this period totaled 8. When tracked last fall for a
week, riders totaled 34. Francine will speak to Michael Martignetti who requested the
Route 4 extension to identify possible causes for rider reduction.
➢ Gail will submit to TAC schedule changes for consideration to take effect July 1, 2011.
School Dept's discussion of Lexpress tickets as part of LHS school bus pass
➢ A LHS follow -up survey has been developed by the School Dept to determine level of
interest in incorporating Lexpress tickets for use on 4pm to 6pm routes as part of a school
bus pass.
➢ Survey questions were submitted to TAC members prior to the meeting.
➢ TAC requests the School Dept clarify wording to include directives "to check off all that
apply" so that responses from families with more than one LHS student will be captured.

asked to use the term "low cost."
➢ Gail will forward TAC's survey edits to Elaine Celi, School Bus Coordinator.
