1) Distribution of final 2011 -2012 School Improvement Plan
2) Site Council Overview — to serve as an advisory body to Principal
• Distribution of LPS School Councils Policy
• Discussion of purpose /duties of School Council
1. Approve SIP (School Improvement Plan)
2. Assist principals in adopting educational goals for school
3. Assist principals in identification of educational needs of students
4. Assist principals in the review of the annual school budget
• Discussion of any additional goals or items our school council would like to
accomplish this year
1. Possibility of designing a survey for students, parents and
faculty for this spring
2. Decision to maintain the current meeting schedule —once a
month. (See the reminder of meeting dates below).
3) Principal's Update
• Data Teams and consistent meeting of Professional Learning
Communities (grade level content area teachers) weekly
• Faculty Study Groups — launched and running now through January.
