HomeMy WebLinkAbout2011 commemorative tree mem book letter Dear Friend, Thank you for your generous donation to the Town of Lexington of a commemorative tree. This tree will surely help beautify our Town for years to come and commemorate your designated honoree. At the Cary Library, the Lexington Commemorative Tree Program maintains a Memorial Book. In it we keep a record of all the honorees and of the trees planted to commemorate them. Each honoree is allocated a double-sided page with information about the person and their tree. We like to include a photo of the person and of the tree planting as well as the honoree’s name, date of birth, and date of death should they be deceased. You might add their residence, education, community involvement, special interests, and their immediate family. We will notate a designated commemorative tree number along with the species, location, and date of tree planting of the tree. Attached is a form you might use to record the text you wish to include. We can use the form “as is” or you are welcome to either edit it or design your own page entirely. Some donors have submitted a short essay, letter or photo collage in lieu of following the form. I will be in contact with you soon about your choices for the Memorial Book. Meanwhile please contact me with any questions. Sincerely, Jane Beswick Coordinator, Lexington Commemorative Tree Program janeb@alumni.emerson.edu 781/862-0856
