4. EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR'S REPORT
A. Project updates
Vareika Construction is wrapping up the punch list for the federal door
replacement project, weather permitting.
Alvord Architects is drafting plans for the ADA project and the Greeley Village
siding project.
The engineer hired to prepare the Vynebrooke Village water remediation project
has submitted his report for the Conservation Committee meeting being held on
March 8, 2011.
B. Annual Legislative Day March 22, 2011
Please let Kathy know if you want to attend so you can be registered.
C. Update Parker Manor flat roofs
A path was shoveled on the roof to direct the melting to the drain/gutter. The
concern is that the roof is ballasted with river rock. It is plastic and
could easily be damaged in the cold if it were to be shoveled.
5. UNFINISHED BUSINESS
Steve is in the process of getting copies of Personnel Policies from other housing
authorities. He has received 2 so far. Leona suggested that he compare at least 5.
It was decided to table this discussion until the March meeting.
2
At the last Board meeting there was a discussion regarding home visits prior to lease
up. This discussion was also tabled until the March meeting as Steve is attending
PHM courses this week and was unavailable to attend the February meeting this
evening.
6. NEW BUSINESS
The housing authority posted "No Trespass" signs and also a snow fence on the
Worthen Rd. cut through to Militia Drive. Lori McBride, the DHCD attorney, advised
Steve to take down both the signs and fence, as that posted more of a hazard to the
residents as it forced them to walk on Bedford Street. Lori also told Steve not to
contact the Militia Drive management company as they might come back and say
that they are our residents and we need to take care of the problem although it is
not housing authority property
Melinda and Bob have both offered to have a meeting with Greeley Village residents
and the Safety Officer. It was decided to have the March Board meeting at Greeley
Village.
Steve has not heard back yet from Marion Abrams of the Rotary Club regarding
funding a portion of the costs for the ADA bump out project at Greeley Village,
magnets, ping pong table for Vynebrooke Village, bike racks and BBQ.
Melinda was approached by a woman who was asking the status of her sons
application. Any questions of that nature should be directed to the office as that
is where they are received and processed.
