Adult Day Care
Lauren McSweeney reported that our Adult Day Program ran a Fifty
Thousand ($50,000.00) dollars deficit for the Fiscal Year ending June 30,2007 The
Town budget only provides for a Thirty Thousand ($30,000.00) dollars subsidy,
The financial deficit was caused by our not operating at full capacity. Attendance
has declined since we raised rates as of July 6, 2007 and we stopped providing
transportation for out-of-town clients. Fifty (50 %) percent of our clients were from
outside Lexington in 2004. Thirty -six (36 %) percent ofour clients in Fiscal Year 2007
were from out of town. Lauren reported that the problem with picking up clients who live
outside Lexington is that it complicates pick -up times for Lexington residences, i.e, pick-
up times will vary depending upon the travel distance and schedule for out-of-town
clients.
A subcommittee of Jane Pagett, Betty Borghesani, and Jane Trudeau will research
options to increase attendance including shared or cooperative transportation with other
towns to transport out -of -town clients.
