Moved:
Leo McSweeney made a motion and the Board voted to go into Executive Session for the
purpose of discussing a personnel matter,
Marian Cohen disclosed that at the invitation of the Town Manager, Cal Valente, she had
met with him in his office to discuss a personnel matter in early September, Carl told her
that there was to be a restructuring of the Social Services Department and Lauren
McSweeney, Director of Social Services would not have a position in the new
organization, The COA Board expressed its surprise and disappointment at this news,
since Lauren has served the Board very well,
The Board voted to have Marian Cohen draft a letter to Carl Valente, the Town Manager,
to express our satisfaction with Lauren's service to the Board, and to invite him to come
and discuss with the COA Board, the role of the Board in the restructuring of the Social
Services department and in personnel matters, generally.
Meeting adjourned at 5;30 p,m,
