In preparation for the COA presentations on the Adult Day Care Program to the Board of
Selectmen on , 2005, the Board discussed the following:
1. Marian Cohen cover letter to accompany our report was reviewed and approved.
Marian also noted that our committee is the "Council on Aging" not a Board of
Directors of the COA.
2, Dan Fenn suggested (and it was agreed upon) that the issue of "failure to thrive" by
higher functioning clients who are mixed with more compromised clients should be
emphasized and be put into the Executive Summary introduction to the report.
3. Paul Lapointe made several suggestions which were approved for inclusion,
regarding the financial data used in the report. He pointed out inconsistencies and
suggested that the Town's contribution figures be broken out to match the amounts
voted at Town Meeting.
4. Richard Pagett Selectman liaison to the COA was unable to attend the meeting but
sent an e -mail raising several financial issues including the matter of adding personal
benefit costs in the main body of our report rather than as a footnote. The effect of his
suggestion is to increase the percentage contributed by the Town to the program from
14% to 20 %. The Board agreed to incorporate or research his suggestions and
questions (copy of his e -mail is attached hereto).
5. Betty Borghesani and Don Chisholm agreed to revise the report.
6. Betty Borghesani and Don Chisholm will make the oral presentation to the Board of
Selectmen.
