Guest:
Town of Lexington Building Commissioner Steven Frederickson attended the meeting and
invited a representative(s) from the Enablement Committee to join the Development Review
Team. The purpose of the Development Review Team is to allow various departments an
opportunity to collectively meet to review project plans and offer comments that help to improve
proposed project design details, as well as help to improve communication and streamline the
regulatory process for the Town's benefit. Meetings are held on the second and forth Mondays
of the month at 2:00 p.m. in Room 111 (or G -15) of the Town Office Building. The Enablement
Committee representative(s) will also be added to the list to receive the Interdepartmental
Approval Form that is circulated by the Building Commissioner requesting review and signoff
on large -scale construction project plans. Member(s) of the Enablement Committee who are
interested in attending the Development Review Team should contact Karen Mullins,
Conservation Administrator at (781) 862 -0500 x 227.
Steve Frederickson also indicated an interest in attending future meetings of the Enablement
Committee and that members can feel free to contact him at (781) 862 -0500 x 214 with any
issues or concerns that they might have.

Minutes:
Minutes for May 7 1 meeting were unavailable for review at the time of the meeting. Copies of
the May minutes will be mailed out to Committee Members for their review.
Commission Status:
Some members of Enablement Committee have not yet completed and submitted their
membership applications for the Commission on Disability to the Town Manager's Office. If
Committee members need additional applications, they should contact Michael Novack at (78 1)
861 -0194.
Sidewalk Obstruction:
Richard Landau took members of the Enablement Committee on a "virtual tour" of downtown
Lexington highlighthag the v #liqus physical barriers that a visually impaired person routinely
encounters while walk ng down Massachusetts Avenue. Suggestions from members of the
�. Enablement Committee included writing letters to the Department of Public Works and
Historical DistnGY 6otninrssion;iplftsing awareness and requesting signage that prevents
blockage of sidewalks and perhaps even a future meeting between representatives of the
Enablement Committee and the Historical Districts Commission.
Next Meeting:
The next meeting of the Enablement Committee will be July 9 at 4:00 p.m. in Heather
Sweeney's Office at the Senior Center.
