HomeMy WebLinkAbout2001-05-23-TPT-HoiriisTO: Mr, Alan Fields Chairman Trustees of Public Trusts RE: Jacqueline Toye Hoiriis Scholarship Fund This memo is to set forth the terms on which the Trustees of Public Trusts agree to hold the JACQUELINE TOYS HOMHS SCHOLARSHIP FUND in memory of Jacqueline Toye Hoiriis being established by the Toye and Hoiriis families, 1, The Trustee will hold and invest the fund as part of the common trust funds administered by them for the town of Lexington, 2, Each year the Trustees shall award through the PTA Council Scholarship Committee (or its successor organization), a scholarship to be known as the JACQUELINE TOYE HOIltIIS SCHOLARSHIP, This scholarship shall be in the amount of at least three- fourths of the net income of the fund, The remaining (25 %) income shall be added, each year, to the principal of the fund, 3. The scholarship shall be physically awarded by a member of either the Toye or Hoiriis family as long as they are willing and able. In their absence a member of the P,T,A, Scholarship Committee shall make the presentation, 4. To be eligible, a potential recipient must meet the following criteria: (a) Be a woman graduating from either Lexington High School or Minuteman Regional Technical High School, (b) Be a resident of Lexington, Massachusetts. (c) Have been a member of the Haydenette Precision Skating Team, (d) Have been accepted to and plan to attend a college or university, L A •� t �j (e) Have demonstrated aspects of Jacqueline Toye Hoiriis' character, i.e, an outgoing, cheerful, happy person who gets along with everyone, Mr. Alan Fields Jacqueline Toye Hoiriis Scholarship Fund Page Two; (5) Applications for this scholarship shall be available from the Lexington High School Scholarship Coordinator through the P.T.A. Council Scholarship mechanism, The P.T.A. Council Scholarship Committee shall consult with the skating coach at Hayden to finalize the choice. (6) If in any year no qualified applicant is available, the income for that year shall be added to the principal. (7) In any award year, monies may be added to increase the amount of the scholarship.
