Trustee of Public Trusts

Dear Mr. Williams;
Please let this letter serve to document the terms under which the Bass - DiDomenico
Scholarship Fund is to be managed. This fund has been established to honor the memo-
ries of S. R. Major Bass, a Lexington resident who died in the Vietnam War, and Joseph
DiDomenico who was a long -time choral director and music department chair in the
Lexington Public Schools.
1) The Trustees of Public Trusts will hold and invest the fund as part of the common
trust funds administered by them for the benefit of the town of Lexington.
2) Each year one scholarship of $1500 will be awarded to a Lexington High School
graduating senior who plans to major in music or music education in college. Deci-
sions for the award will be made by faculty members of the Lexington High School
Music Department.
3) The award announcement will be made at the LHS annual spring pops concert.
4) Candidates for this award will apply to the Lexington High School Music Depart-
ment using a form created by the faculty. The award's availability is announced to
all students, and forms are given out by the faculty on request.
5) If in any year there are no qualified students for the Bass - DiDomenico Scholarship,
the amount of the award for that year will be added to the principal of the fund.
6) Distribution of the award will be made directly to the college. A student may declare
his /her major anytime in his/her college career. This may mean more than one dis-
bursement in any calendar year. There is no time limit on the award.
7) It is FOLMADS' intention to build up the fund over time so that its income will
equal the amount of the award.
8) In any year, members of the community or FOLMADS, Inc. may supplement the
fund, All donations to the fund should be routed through FOLMADS at 251 Walt-
ham Street, Lexington, MA, and FOLMADS will acknowledge them. These contri-
butions will then be forwarded to the Trustees of the Public Trusts for banking and
investing.
9) At any time in the future, the Board of Directors of FOLMADS may make changes
to the above at its discretion, including but not limited to, withdrawing this scholar-
ship fund from the Trustees of the Public Trust..
10) The Trustees of the Public Trust will provide an annual accounting to FOLMADS.
