Re: Richard Isenberg Trust Fund
Dear Alan,
This letter is to set forth the terms on which the Trustees of Public Trusts agree to hold
the trust fund the family has established in memory of Richard Isenberg:
The Trustees will hold and invest the fund as part of the common trust
funds administered by them for the benefit of the Town of Lexington.
2. Net income from the fund shall be paid as follows:
(a) Each year the trustees shall award a prize to be known as the
Richard Isenberg Prize in the amount of the net income of the
fund, for excellence in sports writing.
(b) To be eligible, a potential recipient must meet the following
criteria:
(i) Be a student in the junior or senior classes at Lexington
High School;
(ii) Have demonstrated excellent sports writing ability;
(iii) Have produced superior written work on the subject of
sports, whether in the form of news articles, essays, fiction
or such other form as the selection committee in its sole
discretion considers appropriate; and ,
(iv) Have best demonstrated Richard's qualities of personality
and character: enthusiasm, openness, wit and integrity.

3. (a) Selection of the recipient of the Richard Isenberg Prize shall be
' made by a selection committee consisting of;
I. The head of the Lexington High School English Department or
his or her designee,
2. The Editor of the Lexington Minuteman or his or her designee
3. The faculty advisor of the Lexington High School Newspaper
or his or her designee,
4. A member of the Isenberg family or their designee as long as
they are willing and able to serve.
(b) If in an year there are, in the judgement of the selection committee,
no students qualified and or eligible for the Richard Isenberg Prize, the
net income for that year will be added to the principal.
