PETITIONS HEARD:
FORMAL HEARINGS
1775 Massachusetts Avenue
map 48 lot 97A: Ed Juralewicz, United Sign Co., Inc.,
representing, 1775 Massachusetts Avenue Condominium Trust, received approval for new
signage. Certificate No. 2009C-16
Voting Commissioners were: Chairman Joseph Welch, Alfonso Hernandez, Daniel Griffin, and
Paul Ross and Associate Commissioner Carl Oldenburg
Battle Green at Massachusetts Avenue and Bedford Street
map 49 lot 3: Dave Cannon,
Representing, Town of Lexington, requested and was approved to have the formal application
withdrawn from review and instead presented plans for resurfacing the street, island, and
sidewalk at the Battle Green as an informal.

map 48 lot 94: Janet Tiampo, received approval for exterior architectural
change (remove aluminum siding and replacing with new wood clapboards)

INFORMALS
11 Hancock Street
map 56 lot 57 - Daniel Abramson presented plans for new aluminum clad
windows. The commission did not feel aluminum clad windows were appropriate for this house.
Mr. Abramson will replace his windows using materials to match existing. No Formal Hearing
required
1690 Massachusetts Avenue ,
map 48 lot 35 – Natalie Grindle, Ameritechfor signage. She did
not attend the hearing.
23 Hancock Street
map 56 lot 52 - Hancock United Church of Christ, presented plans for a new
window in kitchen. They are ready for a formal
Massachusetts Avenue in East Lexington:
Francise Fuery, representing, Safe Mass Avenue
Committee, presented an idea for crosswalk flags at certain crossings in East Lexington. They
are talking with Police Department and DPW. They are hoping to test this system during the
summer of 2009 and will come back formally when ready.
OTHER BUSINESS
Chairman Joseph Welch gave an update on the 33 Forest Street, Hancock School
Condominiums. They received a permit from the building department to remove most of the
roof and fourth floor. The company doing the demolition Seaver Construction will save any
unique exterior architectural feature that can be saved such as the finials
Associate Commissioner Marilyn Fenollosa updated the Commission on becoming a Certified
Local Government. Massachusetts Historical Commission has approved Lexington’s
application. The application will be sent to the National Park Service in Washington D.C. for
final approval.
Upon motion duly made and seconded it was voted 5-0 to approve the minutes of March 5, 2009
