HomeMy WebLinkAbout2008-11-06-HDC-Min Town of Lexington Historic Districts Commission Minutes of November 6, 2008 Commissioners present: Chairman Joseph Welch, Alfonso Hernandez, and Paul Ross Also present were Associate Commissioners: Carl Oldenburg, Robert Warshawer, Marilyn Fenollosa, and Scott Kyle, and Department Clerk Amy Casparius Absent were: Commissioners Lynn Hopkins, and Daniel Griffin PETITIONS HEARD: FORMAL HEARINGS 1707 Massachusetts Avenue : map 48 lot102- Ashley N. Rollins received approval for signage. Certificate No. 2008C-53 Voting Commissioners were: Joseph Welch, Alfonso Hernandez, and Paul Ross. And Associate Commissioners: Marilyn Fenollosa and Robert Warshawer 9 Muzzey Street : map 49 lot 70A – Bob Enik of Oakland Signs, representing Minute Shop, received approval for signage. Certificate No. 2008C-54 Voting Commissioners were: Joseph Welch, Alfonso Hernandez, and Paul Ross. And Associate Commissioners: Carl Oldenburg, and Marilyn Fenollosa CONTINUED nd 21 Muzzey Street 2 Floor: map 49 lot 66- Soraya Sadeghi, Esquire, Representing Barbara Graham, did not attend for signage. This applicant will need to reapply if they would like to proceed with this project. 36 Hancock Street map56 lot39B - Susan Bennett, received approval for exterior architectural change and signage (exterior color change of door,) Certificate No. 2008C-55 Voting Commissioners were: Joseph Welch, Alfonso Hernandez, and Paul Ross. And Associate Commissioners: Carl Oldenburg, and Marilyn Fenollosa 926 Massachusetts Avenue -map 22 lot 81- Michael Kuschel, Representing Patricia Thomas, did not attend the hearing. The applicant will need to reapply if they would like to proceed with this project 1965 Massachusetts Avenue map 57 lot 8 - Joseph Contarino, regarding the hearing for exterior architectural change (Porch and Deck) did not attend the hearing. Mr. Contarino has been in contact with the commission regarding this project. They do not have the drawings ready that are necessary for the commission to vote on this project 1625 MASSACHUSETTS AVENUE • LEXINGTON, MASSACHUSETTS 02420 Minutes of November 6, 2008 INFORMALS 1444 Massachusetts Avenue map 40 lot 32- Ronald Wallace, presented plans for replacing the front side entrance with a window. Mr. Wallace is ready for a formal hearing OTHER BUSINESS Chairman Joseph Welch updated the commission on the status of the Hancock School Condominiums at 33 Forest Street, which was damaged by fire on October 31, 2008. The Building is being protected from the elements; however, nothing major will be done for a least a year. At this point all evidence suggests that the building can be saved.
