Question for Lexington Groups
Questions for the Lexington Departments was sent to the Laura via email in the previous
weeks, collected, and distributed prior to and at the meeting for general discussion and
fine tuning.
In order to sset the tone of the questions, the CCTF discussed its charge There was vocal
support to recognize that the needs assessment phase of the work will determine whether
the services should will, or should, be accommodated by one building or two, partially
utilizing existing facilities, or even being delivered/ exist in a virtual online capacity
Below is a list of questions discussed, which accompany those already distributed.
• What is missing vs how can you utilize a community center?
• What do you wish you had?
• What spaces are underutilized?
• What is working with your current space and what are the biggest problems?
• What can you not do now, or can do better?
• What is your dream space is it using multiple spaces around town? Does it
include or is it a virtual space?
Meeting Notes
Community Center Task Force
• Who (what demographic) are coming to you and for what needs, and, who are
coming to you with needs that you cannot meet?
• General report of the human services that are being provided could be helpful
• What other Town departments do you interact/work with?
• Who else should we talk too?
Hank M. offered perspective about the types of Human Services the Town has provided
over the years, and how its evolved over the years
Other points for consideration regarding conduct, format, and information during the
interviews include
• Collection of aging / general demographic info would be helpful
• The CCTF should address what services do we as a municipality need or should be
providing to our citizens —perhaps some functions should be directed to non-profit
private providers
• Send department guests questions ahead of time
• Interviews should focus on critical information and be sensitive to stay away from
probing questions
• Organizational charts and SF data can be helpful during discussions
• Meeting in the department spaces could prove informative
The next meetings of the CCTF are scheduled for June 28th and July 5th 7 30 p.m.,
location to be determined.
